The winning KRob competition drawing is part of a larger body of work, titled “Pointscapes”. Pointscapes is an archival work, consisting of a series of photogrammetric collages capturing various moments of decay, light, and color in time.
Each image is a combination of multiple existing spaces from different parts of Upstate NY, documented by 3D scanning and sewn together in the digital realm in the form of pointclouds. Each composition creates a new space that only exists in the digital world, with unrelated architectural parts, features, objects, and boundaries borrowed from the physical world, emphasizing an unconventional way of looking at our surrounding environment as a series of dynamic, momentary landscapes of light and color as opposed to mass and form.
